About Dr. Hill

Dennis R. Hill, M.D has been doing High Dose Rate brachytherapy full time since 2004. He graduated from the Oregon Health Science University and did his radiation oncology residency at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Following his residency he served as a Lieutenant Commander and Director of Radiation Oncology at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego for two years. During his assignment there he was also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center teaching resident physicians in radiation oncology. When he returned to the bay area he joined the full time faculty at UCSF, and became Clinical Professor in 1984. He also took responsibility as Vice-Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCSF from 1981-1986. Dr. Hill is board certified in radiation oncology, and practiced external beam radiation in private practice at Davies Medical Center, now part of California Pacific Medical Center, in San Francisco prior to focusing on high dose rate brachytherapy in Oakland. He is an expert in the California Endocurietherapy or CET method of High Dose Rate brachytherapy for prostate cancer. He also treats other malignancies with High Dose Rate brachytherapy including breast, gynecologic cancer, and soft tissue sarcomas.
